The Law of Beauty, a collective of AIPOC (Afro, Indigenous, People of Colour) Wordsmiths and Movement Artists weave their stories into the starry screen behind them. They share their reflections on inhabiting the world as a person whose value is constantly debated by the people around them based on nothing but the “beholder’s” gaze. It is an event hosted by the Cubby Art Party and funded by Maribyrnong Art and Culture, as a part of its bi-month program, amplify. During this event, I created a Mandarin spoken-word piece and soundtrack for performance use and made a zine as an extension of the event.
