Let’s Date is the artifact I made based on my study of how the masculine gaze affects modern society through media, and brainwashing, tackling the topics of communication, intelligence, emotion and time wastage being cost by judging people solely based on their appearance and the obsession with physical beauty. Let’s Date is an interactive board game that can be played by 4-12 people that communicates the idea of a dating app by allowing players to participate in interacting with others while following the game structure. This game aims to create conversations and make people reflect on their experiences after the game. The art style is highly inspired by comix, and the game is filled with borderline ridiculous restrictions that would make people look/sound funny in order to denounce the beauty standards and the stereotypes that have been created by society.
